The Inspector cometh! The Insepctor cometh! That's our neighbour Terry who has built a deck or two of his own, and is always very helpful.
We got the ledger up. It was tough to level because we couldn't put a level on top of the ledger (the house siding interfered). We drew a level line flush with the top of where the ledger would go, then tried to place the ledger on that line (as close as we could get it anyway, considering the ledger edge isn't exactly straight). We ended up using a small 3" level at different spots on the ledger to confirm. We got it level, and nailed it in temporarily. It just has to hold until we bolt it. |
