Ok, so leveling things and making sure things are sqare takes a bit of time, but 6 hours! Really.
Jonnie is putting some spikes near the house under and flush with the ledger board, to which we will attach some strings. These will be pulled away from the house and attached to batter boards, to provide the perpendicular axes of the deck and posts.
