woohoo! Finally to the decking!
Books and magazines will tell you to put up a plywood platform to sit/stand on while putting up the first few deck boards. But why, when you can just place some of the decking boards?
This is the first board being nailed. It's placed a good 1" away from the house so that any junk can fall through and the flashing will direct it below the deck. That way nothing gets stuck between the house and the deck, so no rotting. |
