  The last thing to do before the concrete set was to stick in the L-shaped achor, to which the post saddle will attach with a nut. We used our string line again for this and tried to center the anchor on each post as much as possible, but when one of the piers wasn't exactly in a straight line, we compensated with the position of the anchor. The idea here is that the beams will have to fit across all four 6x6 posts in one row, so all four posts have to be in line. It doesn't matter where those posts sit on the concrete, as long as they form a straight line. So if the anchor has to be moved from center, then so be it.
