We can't recommend these Simpson post saddles enough. They have two huge benefits over the cheaper kind:
First, the post is raised almost 1" from the concrete, so the end grain cannot wick any water. That alone is worth the price of admission ($17 vs $5).
Even better, they are adjustable. The hole is elongated, so if you get the concrete post or the anchor bolt in the wrong position, you still have some wiggle room from your 6x6 post position. |
