Day 23
Next on our list is to put up the joists. But first, we have to properly attach the ledger to the house; we only put 2 bolts in a while back and a few nails.
This task is complicated by the fact that we have to drill the pilot holes from inside the basement (there are too many wires and piping inside to drill from the outside). Now, we don't want those bolts to where the joist or joist hangers will be (they would interfere). So I marked the location of each joist, and gave Jonnie a list of spaces within which he could drill the holes. Worked like a charm. |
