Then we nailed down the flashing. That's when I saw something I wasn't happy with: the flashing bubbles up a bit at the top of the beam and creates channels between it and the tape. I didn't want any water channels to be created anywhere, so I changed my mind. I figured if there is space for water to get to the top of the post, then there is space for it to dry out as well. I took off all the duct tape and flashing, and left it all au naturel. |
