Billboard Messages
Anyone can create content in Billboard, even the general public if that is how the designated Billboard Administrator has set things up.
It is more likely that the Administrator has set up accounts for various users, giving them permission to create content for the billboard system. Some users can create messages that require approval, and others can post directly without Administrator intervention. Some are limited to the kinds of messages they can create, others are not. See Types of Users for details on the kinds of users and their various permissions.
Regardless of the permissions, all users including Administrators can post messages.
- Login then select "Post a Message".
- Users who are limited to one template will enter the data directly into the message. Users who are limited to some templates will select the relevant template. Users who have unlimited access will select the magazine and then the template within that magazine.
- On all messages:
- The Start Date is when the message will start to play.
- The Stop Date, if it appears, indicates when the message should stop playing.
- The Headline field becomes the message’s filename.
- Select the Preview button to see what their final message will look like.
- Select the Next button to complete the message.
- If there is missing information the user is notified that certain fields cannot be left blank.
- The posted message is sent to a spell checker. When the corrections have been made, select Next.
The message is then either posted or sent to a queue for approval depending on the member’s type of account.
Note: Note: Users whose messages require approval are not notified that their message has been approved or rejected
When messages do require approval, Administrators, Editors and some Screeners are responsible for looking over the messages and either approving, deferring, editing or rejecting them.
Administrators, Editors and Screeners can approve, reject, defer or edit messages requring approval.
