Create a Date and/or Clock Page

Audience.data can be used to automatically update a page with the current date and time. The time will be updated at approximately :20 seconds past the minute, every minute.

To create a Date and/or Clock Page

  1. Select the magazine in which you want to create your date and/or time page.

  2. Go to the magazine's template pane, right click, select Create New Template, and select a date and/or time template from the Quick Template fly-out menu, and name the template.

  3. Modify the template if required. Open it in CorelDraw, and make changes. See CorelDraw for information. Tag Fields in CorelDraw. See Tag Fields in CorelDraw. Examples of tagged fields:

  4. Template 1: $Date $Time
    Template 2: $Mon $Day $Hour:$Min
    Template 3: $Date

  5. Right click on the template, select Setup Live Data Feed, then Custom Data Feed.
  6. The Welcome to Audience.data screen is displayed. Select the New> button.
  7. Select the Next button until you come to the Choose a Data Source page. From that page, select option 5: Date and Time, and select Next>.
  8. On the Match Data Tags to Template page, select one of your template tags on the right, and then select a corresponding date and/or time format on the left. For Example:

    • Template 1 in step 3 above could be matched as follows:
      "$Date" with "January 9, 2004" and "$Time" with "3:07 pm".
    • Template 2 could be matched as follows: "$Mon" with "Jan", "$Day" with "9", "$Hour" with "15" and ":$Min" with "07".
  9. Match one tag with one type of data, then select the >> button.
  10. Select another template tag, match it with a data type, and select >> to complete the match. Repeat for as many tags as you want to match.
  11. When you are finished matching your tags to the data types, select Next>.
  12. At the Add More Templates screen, select Next> unless you want to connect the data to another template in another zone or template.
  13. At the Name the New Configuration screen, type in a Name. It is best to pre-pend the playback or zone name, so that this date time configuration remains exclusive to this particular playback and zone. For example, name the configuration TorontoClockDateTime, where Toronto is the playback and Clock is the zone name.
  14. Select Finish>.

In about one minute, your new page will be displayed in the magazine's page pane. Drag the page into the playlist to put it on air.
