Magazines

Magazines are folders within a zone that contain pages, templates and a scheduled playlist. A zone can contain multiple magazines, which simplifies scheduling different content. Rather than having to schedule individual pages in one large magazine, the user can create multiple magazines for different subject matters (advertisements, video segments, or community messages) or magazines can be grouped according to their schedule (Monday, Tuesday, etc).

In the tree, a magazine is represented by a book icon.

Scheduling

Magazines can be scheduled by date and/or time range, and they also follow a priority system. The first magazine in the zone has the highest priority. If the highest priority magazine is scheduled to play, and the pages in its playlist are scheduled to play, it will play. If any of these conditions are not met, Audience.foundation looks to the next magazine for scheduled content, and so-on down the list of all magazines in that zone. See Schedule a Magazine for details.

When creating a zone, a default magazine with the zone's name is created automatically. This magazine should be scheduled to always play so that there is always something on the air.
