Schedule a Screen

By default, new screens are scheduled to always play (all days of the week, all time ranges, and all date ranges).

Important Notes:

  • If there is only one screen in the playback, do not schedule it. It must be set to always play, which is the default.
  • If there are multiple screens in the playback, do not schedule the lowest priority screen (the last one in the tree)--it must be set to always play. It must also contain valid active content (pages in the playlist that are scheduled to play) in all of its zones. This ensures that something always appears on air. See Screen Priority for details.

To schedule a screen:

1.Right click on the screen in the tree and select Properties then the Schedule tab.

2.Check the boxes next to the days of the week you want your screen to be broadcast.

3.To Schedule Date Ranges:

  • Click on the + under the Date Ranges box.
  • Select the start date in the calendar. (Click on the Month for a drop-down menu of all months, and on the year for quick access to other years). Select the end date. Press OK.
  • Repeat the process to add more date ranges or Click OK to exit.

4.To Schedule Time Ranges:

  • Click on the + under the Time Ranges box.
  • Add a single time range or multiple time ranges (see note below).
  • Type in the start and stop times using this format: hh:mm:ss.
  • If scheduling multiple time ranges, add frequency and duration.
  • Click OK. Repeat to add more than one time range or click OK to exit.

Note: When a new screen goes on air, it will take approximately 1-2 seconds, during which time your on air playback may display black.

Multiple Time Ranges

Audience.foundation can generate multiple time ranges automatically. When you select “Add multiple time ranges”, simply enter a start and stop time (when to play), a frequency (how often), and a duration (for how long). Audience will generate individual schedules for each time range.

There are also multiple plugins that can be used to schedule screens. See Audience.plugins and Apply a Plugin to a Screen.
