Screen Parts and Navigation

Ways to view different aspects of the screen:

The screen background (without the zones) Read more...select a playback in the playback Drop-Down menu or right-click in the navigator at the bottom left of Audience.foundation and select View Zone Layers and uncheck “All Zones”.
The zone placement within a screen Read more... select a screen in the tree, right-click in the navigator and select Show All.
A zone's list of magazines and the zone's placement on the screen Read more...select the zone in the tree (the zone turns white in the Navigator if there is no zone above it. If you do not see the white box, go to View > Zone Layers, Select All Zones to clear the list then select the zone you want to see).
A magazine's content (pages, templates and playlist) Read more...select the magazine in the tree. Or, to view the first magazine in a zone, select the zone in the Navigator.
A page and its details Read more... select the page in the tree, or double-click on it in the page or playlist pane.
A template and its details Read more... double-click on the template.

Menu Bar

This is the Menu Bar in Audience.foundation. Each Menu Item's options are described by selecting the menu item below.

File

Refresh playbacks	Refreshes the Audience.foundation User Interface playback list after a new scheme is added via ScreenWizard
Import	Quickly import an entire folder of graphics directly into a magazine, using the template of your choice. Audience.foundation automatically creates a page for each graphic. Import can also be used to import PowerPoint Presentations.
Audience Settings	Select the simplified or advanced CorelDraw toolbar, select an encoding profile for Audience.web videos, change the program location for MediaScreen or manage Playback keywords.
Audience.web Settings	Choose between fullscreen and browser modes, set a default Audience.web playback, select the refresh rate, and the zone menu width among other settings. See Configure Audience.web Settings for details.
Advanced on air playback Settings	These settings are for special configurations and troubleshooting and should not be modified.
Exit	Exit Audience.foundation and stop all on air playback.

Edit

This menu is context-sensitive, and will only display those items that are relevant to the current selection in the tree. The following is a list of all items in this menu.

New	Create a new playback, screen, zone or magazine.
Add Reference	Link to an existing screen, zone, or magazine. Changes made in the new (linked) item affect the original item, and vice-versa.
Duplicate	Duplicate a playback, screen or zone. The resulting duplicate is a completely independent copy of the original.
Duplicate & Link	This function duplicates the playback, screen or zone and links to all existing magazines in the original playback. It also automatically creates a new (unlinked) magazine in each zone.
Duplicate & Rescale	Use this to duplicate an existing playback and change its resolution.
Remove	Remove a screen, zone or magazine, depending on the selection in the tree. This does not delete the item; it merely removes it as a reference.
Delete	Use this to delete a playback. Playbacks are actually deleted, rather than removed. However, all the content in the playback (screens, zones, magazines, pages) are still available on the system, and can be re-associated into new playbacks using the 'Add Reference' function.

About	Displays the current version of Audience.foundation.

Toolbar

This table displays all icons used in the Audience.foundation toolbar.

	Keywords	View the list of keywords associated with a playback.
	Back	Go up one level in the directory tree.
	New	Create a new zone, magazine or page, depending on your selection in the tree.
	Open	Open the page selected in the directory tree.
	Print	Print the currently open Playlist. The playlist will print in landscape mode with all report view details. Double click on a bar between two columns in the playlist pane to auto-resize before printing.
	Copy	Copy a page into another magazine. This is enabled when a page is selected in the page pane.
	Paste	Paste a page or template into another magazine.
	Duplicate	Duplicate a screen, a zone, a page or a template.
	Delete	Delete a page or template selected in the page or template pane.
	Refresh	View changes made to a page in page details view.
	Properties	Displays the properties of the selected item in the tree (screen, zone or magazine).
	Edit Layout	Edit the (CorelDraw) layout of a page or template with this icon, or double-click on the open page or template in Audience.foundation.
	Find	Quickly find pages in the page pane. Type in a word or number, and Audience.foundation will highlight all pages containing that word or number in any of the fields displayed in the page pane.
	Report View	Select the (page, template or playlist) pane you want to view in report, and then click the icon.
	Thumbnail View	Select the pane you want to view in thumbnail view, then click the icon
	Page Details View	Select a page or a template, and click on this icon to view page details.
	Normal Mode	The playlist is run in normal (as opposed to presentation) mode.
	Presentation Mode	A Mode that allows the user to manually play selected pages immediately.
	Playlist Follow	A list or thumbnail view of the files playing now in the selected zone.

Production Panes

There are three production panes:

Page Pane

The Page Pane displays all pages created in the selected magazine. This is the main working area, where you create and select pages to edit, copy, paste, duplicate, view, and drag to the playlist.

Playlist Pane

The playlist displays the pages that are broadcast for that magazine. The order of the pages in the playlist determines the order in which they are broadcast. Note, however, that pages displayed in the playlist may have a schedule that keeps them from appearing on air. When that is the case, they are skipped. Also, some pages that are not in the playlist may go on air if they are targeted by pages in other zones.

Dragging pages to another location in the playlist will modify the order of the playlist. You can easily add pages to the playlist by dragging them from the Page Pane to the Playlist Pane.

Template Pane

The template pane displays all templates available to the selected zone. Unlike pages that are magazine specific, templates are zone specific; all magazines in a zone will share the same templates. The template pane is the main working area, where you create, edit, copy, paste, duplicate, view and drag templates to the page pane to create new pages.

Zone Layers	Opens the Zone Layers box, where zones may be hidden or displayed in the navigator. This is used for overlapping zones, when one zone might be hiding a zone behind it.
Zoom	While in Screen Manager View (when a screen is selected in the tree) select View > Zoom to apply a zoom factor to the screen. This is particularly useful when designing multi-head screens, or large resolution screens.
Playlist Follow	See which page is currently on-air for a particular zone. Select the zone in the tree, then View > Playlist Follow. Right-click to view a list or thumbnails.

ScreenWizard	Exits Audience.foundation and opens ScreenWizard, where you can backup your current playback, create a scheme from your current playback, load a new scheme, or restore a backup. See Manage Schemes and Backups with Screenwizard for details.
MultiScreen Designer	Allows you to create a Multi-Screen display using existing screens. See MultiScreen Designer for details.
Re-render all Pages	This can be used to re-render pages after you have already said ‘no’ to the re-render pages prompt when changing a screen background.
