Structure of Audience.foundation

The basic composition of a show in Audience.foundation includes six elements: playbacks, screens, zones, magazines, pages and playlists.

Playback

The Playback is the output of your show. Devices playing back this show typically would point to the `Thornton Primary School` playback on the main Audience computer. See Playbacks for more information.

Screen

The Thornton Primary School playback contains a scheduled Screen made up of a background image divided into different Zones. You may use multiple scheduled Sceens in the same Playback. See Screens for more information.

Zones

Zones are the individual parts of the Screen that contain content. In this example there are areas on the screen dedicated to playing back videos, Date and Time, and the Schoolboard logo among other things. Any type of media can be played back in any zone. See Zones for more information.

Magazines

If a zone is an area on a screen, the magazine is the content of what displays in that zone. All zones have at least one default magazine that contains all of the pages created for that magazine as well as the playlist.

To help organize the content that displays in each zone you can schedule different magazines to play at different times or on different days. As an example, the “Thornton Messages” zone in the Thornton Primary School Playback contains two magazines; one for messages local to the school, like birthday messages or lunch menus, and another magazine with messages that come from the school board and are played back on all school playbacks, not just Thornton Primary School.

Pages and Playlist

Pages contain and refer to all aspects of your design. Use Audience.foundation and CorelDraw together to compose television, digital signage, or web pages that contain text, graphics, video, or a combination of the three.

CorelDraw gives you control over font size and styles, background colours, images, shapes and objects. Audience.foundation organizes and schedules your content, customizes transitions, logs advertising time and provides an easy way to update information and content.

To broadcast the pages drag them into the ordered playlist.

See Pages and Templates as well as Playlists for more information.

From the top down you are in control. From the font-size of the video caption to the number of times a page plays on air in an hour, all of this is possible from one interface.

See Multiple playbacks for information about the various ways to output your playback on different platforms.
