Target Pages
You can link one page (host page) to another page (target page) in another zone so that when the host page plays, it triggers the target page to also play in the other zones at the same time.
Example
You can have a "Happy Canada Day" page (in Zone 1) target an 'Events in the Park' page (in Zone2) and an advertisement for Ice Cream from the vendor in the park (in Zone 3). All pages play simultaneously whenever the "Happy Canada Day" page plays.
To create a target page
- Open the host page (select it in the tree, or double click on it in the Page Pane).
- Go the Misc tab, and click the new icon next to Target Page.
- In the dialog box, select the magazine, then select the page you want to target.
- Press OK.
- Modify the duration of the page being targeted to match or be greater than the host page's duration.
- Repeat if you want this host page to target multiple pages.
Special Conditions
- Page Duration. The duration of the page being targeted must match or be greater than the host page's duration.
- Magazine. The target pages must be in the zone’s base magazine: that is the magazine that has the same name as the zone. If you cannot find such a magazine in the tree, turn off View Titles (right click on a zone and uncheck View All Titles). There is always one magazine that shares the zone name.
- Crawl Pages. Do not target a crawl page, or a page in any magazine that contains a crawl page. Crawl pages, however, can target other pages, as long as the target page has a very long duration. Note: since a crawl page has no duration, the target page's duration must greater than the time it would take for the crawl page to finish playing.
- Audience web-based systems. Audience.web and Audience.playback.web both respect all target pages except for targeted audio pages.
- Transitions. The targeted page can have any transition, but to ensure that the target page displays at the same time as the host page, use quick transitions for the target page, such as snap, wipe, push, push-under, or push-over.
- Playlist. Targeted pages should not be in the playlist. When they are called upon to play, the page will interrupt the currently playing page in that magazine. The magazine will then resume, according to the Magazine Playlist Behaviour settings.
