Using Audience.web (browser mode)

Audience.web is designed to be an intuitive web tool for the web user. Here are the basic Audience.web navigation features:

  • Click on any zone window to load a menu of the pages in that zone. The menu appears in the left frame. The page name that appears in the menu is taken from the name entered in the "title" field of the description tab in 'Page Details' in Audience.foundation. If this field is left blank, then the filename for the page is used.
  • Click on any of the pages in the menu list to load that page in the zone window.
  • Select 'Refresh Zone' to reload all information for the selected zone from the server. The pages will restart their cycle.
  • Click 'Restart Magazine' and Audience.web will start cycling pages again if it had been stopped. This will reload the content from the server but will play the currently selected magazine rather than the one that is scheduled to run. (This option does not display when there is only one magazine in a zone).
  • Click on links to multiple screens (if available), displayed at the bottom of the web page. Screens are schedulable and Audience.web respects those schedules. So, for example, if you had ScreenA scheduled from 12am to 12pm, and Screen B scheduled from 12pm to 12am, if a visitor goes to your site at 3pm, they would see screen B by default. If they visited at 9am, they would see Screen A by default. The links to the screen at the bottom allow the user to manually select what screen they wish to see.
  • Click 'Post Message' to go directly to the Audience.billboard category associated with the currently loaded zone. (You must have purchased Audience.billboard).
  • Click 'Text Search' to reveal an input box. Type in text and click 'Find' to search for any messages in the current zone containing the search text. The menu will display a list of pages and they will begin cycling in the zone window.
  • If a URL has been associated with a page in Audience, double-clicking on the graphic while it is displayed in the zone will launch another browser window (or open a frame below the main window) with that URL. For details on how to set this up see Web Settings for a Page.
  • After 15 minutes*, Audience.web will timeout and display a Thank You Page*. To restart Audience.web, click the Restart link on the Thank You Page.
*To configure these options, see Screen Refresh and Redirect.
